Most people believe that only soldiers can shine shoes up to the mark simply because they have been trained to so. However, this is not rue because every single person can shine shoes with the help of the simplest tips. It takes not more than five minutes to shine ones shoes but not all shinning techniques can produce the most sparkling shoe. There are a variety of ways which can be utilized during shoe shinning that can help one accrue the best shoe shinning results.

Step 1: Clean all the dust, mud and particles from your shoes

It is sometimes disgusting to apply shoe polish on a surface that is dirty, muddy or dusty with particles. What do you normally feel when your shoe is dirty and you need to apply polish over it? It feels like it is not right at all. At that instance, an instinct will automatically tell you to remove all kinds of dirt first. It is, therefore, important to make sure that you have removed all the dirt from the leather surface of your shoe so that your polish will be applied right on the right surface and not over the surface created by dirt. To do this, you need to use water and a piece of duster or a piece of cloth. Soak the piece of cloth and wipe your shoe. If the dirty has stuck on the shoe surface, then consider soaking such a surface by applying and water and giving it time to soak before wiping the dirt off.

Step 2: Dry your wet leather shoe surface

After wiping with water, it won’t be possible to apply the shoe polish on top of a layer of water. To make sure that the surface in which you want to apply polish is dry, the most practical and the simplest way to go is drying them on the sun. Note that this works when you have an ample time and not when you are in a hurry to go to work. When the surface has proved to be dry and ready, then, you are now clear to proceed to the next step.

Step 3: Apply a thin layer of polish

The application of polish should be gradual and consistent so as to make sure that the whole surface area is reached. The application of polish is effective when the surface is dry and free from moisture. To make sure that a very thin layer is applied on the shoe surface, deep your brush into the polish gently and move it sideway as if you are wiping a surface. This ensures that the bristles of the brush scoops very little polish crucial for producing a thin application on the shoe surface. It is important however to choose a brush with flexible bristles.

Step 4: Wipe off excessive polish from the shoes surface

This can be done in two ways. The first way is by use of a dry piece of cloth or a duster. In some case, the amount of polish may exceed the right amount required to produce an excellent shine. This has to be done away with by simply wiping off the excess amount which might jeopardize the attainment of the best shine.

Step 5: Achieve the right glitter by consistently moving the brush to and fro over the shoe surface

There are two ways of achieving the right amount of shine on your shoe. The first way is by using a dry cloth. This piece of cloth is crucial in ensuring that the excess amount of polish is removed. Note that passing the dry cloth over the shoe surface creates a static force which far from making the shoe shine, they can also attract small dust particles over your shoe.  To avoid this force, it is allowed for you to use your mouth moisture by simply blowing a thin sheet of moisture over the surface. This will ensure even distribution of the small layer of polish as well as reducing static forces created.

The second way is using another dry brush to polish the surface that has already received an even distribution of shoe polish. Most people prefer this method as they believe that the dry brush bristles are the basis of creating a shiny surface over the leather of ones shoe. The dry brush is moved to and fro over the shoe surface severally until the right amount of glitter is achieved. The atmospheric conditions can, however, jeopardize your efforts as much as you would want to make your shine better. This is because moist or humid atmosphere means that excessive water vapor lands on the surface. This makes it difficult to accrue a dry surface which is also crucial as far as getting a glittering surface is concerned.
