The beard is the pride of every man as it brings out the feeling of completeness and perfection thus boosting the male ego. Growing a beard is not that important as it comes naturally but knowing what style to keep your beard is the main problem as this will have a significant impact on your appearance. The style in which you keep your beard is determined by factors such as the shape of your head, face and the style of your hair. The beard styles are categorized into three: full beard, mustaches and partial beards.

  1. Full Beard

As the name suggests this involves growing your beard fully to cover most of your face leaving the eyes and lips to be visible. This kind of beard style is majorly found in the Middle Eastern countries. The full beard style is further subdivided into different styles which include:

  • Scruff

This is a style that anyone can wear and is also known as stubble. It can be obtained by letting your beard for two to four days then decide to shorten it by trimming

  • Corporate Beard

Is a style that is preferred to men who can grow a full beard naturally by letting it grow for a couple weeks to three months. The challenge of growing corporate beard is that it requires a lot of work and time in maintaining it through trimming to achieve the right presentable shape

  • Natural Beard

This kind of beard is determined by a person’s genes as they dictate the density, volume, and length of the beard.

  • Yeard

Is a beard that is grown for a whole year without interruption. It is advisable to trim and groom the flyaways and split ends.

  • Tweard

This is a very rare style as it requires the person growing it to do so for two consecutive years without cutting it down. All it requires it the regular trimming and high level of hygiene.

 

 

  1. Partial Beards

Is the second category of beard and is mostly grown by men of the middle class since the styles look fashionable and trendy. Some the beard types that fall under the category of partial beards include:

  • Sideburns

This is the most adapted style and can easily be identified by the size and shape they take. You can choose to grow your sideburn such that it enjoins the mustache to become one form or grow long sideburns which makes one appear trendy without a beard.

  • Goatee

Is a famous style that runs from the lower lips of the mouth to the chin and can be styled differently depending on an individual’s taste. This type of beard was widely grown by men of the 1990’s.you can decide to let it grow big or keep a small and tight shape.

  • Circle Beard

This is a combination of both a goatee and a mustache with bridges on either side of the mouth.

  • Whaler

Also known as the Amish beard, this is a unique style characterized by a long and full beard with no mustache reason being the Amish linked the mustache to violence and people who were involved in aggressive acts like war. This style has been adopted by the Muslim men

  • Hollywoodian

This style consists of growing a beard along the jaw and mustache without keeping the sideburns. To get this style you can decide to grow your beard without the sideburns then add a mustache that stretches to your beard.

  • Van Dyke

This style is at times mistaken to be a goatee but instead features a mustache and hair located on the chin though the mustache is not attached to the beard. This style goes as far back as the 17th century when it was propagated by the Flemish painter Anthony Van Dyke.

  

  1. Mustache

This is the third category of beard styles and was quite famous in the 19th century. Although it has lost its popularity the style can still look good on you when it’s done in a unique and modern way. Some of the types of mustache include:

  • Handlebar

This type is thicker and takes upward curl shape which is obtained and maintained by using wax designed for the mustache. This style was mostly used by the vintage British men.

  • The Cop

Is a standard style of beard which when grown is not supposed to go beyond your lips and is among the most widely used type of mustache

  • The Walrus

This is a style that is easily identified with its big shape and is easier to maintain and groom due to its thickness that grows over the upper lip.

  • Fu Manchu

This is a straight styled mustache that hangs from both sides of the mouth this name is derived from a fictional individual created by Sax Rohmer an author of 1920,s
