How to Achieve Balance No Matter How Busy You Are

Feeling frazzled? You’re not alone. It’s hard to balance life with our obligations for work, family, or school, plus there’s taking care of our health and beauty too. How can we strike a good balance to be our best at our responsibilities while looking and feeling our best? These tips should help you get off on the right start this new year.

  1. Prioritize

Everything needs to be done now! Hurry! Hurry! Hurry! Ok, just stop. The world isn’t going to end if you don’t spread yourself too thin yet again trying to meet all your work and personal obligations. Make a list of the things you need to do in a month as well as a daily one and prioritize. It will help you feel less frazzled and see what needs the most attention first.

  1. Learn to delegate

Do you think that nothing is ever done right unless you do it yourself? That’s understandable. We’ve all been there from moments like rewashing the dishes after our kids do a lousy job to worrying about how an employee will make you look when you give them one of your projects. But the thing is it’s IMPOSSIBLE for you to do everything. See the first tip above. Prioritize and let others deal with it. It’s not slacking. It’s self-preservation and if you expect to be any good to anyone else, you need to be good to yourself.

  1. Make time for yourself

You’ll find that a lot of the stress you feel inside and all the inner noise that keeps plaguing you will suddenly fall away if you take the time to nurture yourself. Ignore your phone and take a hot bubble bath with a good book and a glass of wine. Go to the spa or salon and let yourself be pampered. It’s not selfish. You do too much for everyone else so now, do something for yourself and you’ll find you not only feel more beautiful, but you feel less angst about your life too.

  1. Start your day the right way

If you start off your day feeling relaxed, you’ll set the tone for your day no matter how crazy it gets. It all begins with a good, rested sleep. Then get up and have a nutritious breakfast. Take a nice walk before you go to work or hit the gym if you have time. This peaceful morning time for yourself does require getting up earlier, but it will be worth it when you see how much more balanced you feel.

  1. Create a stress-free retreat

In both your home and office, make a calm and happy space. It could be adding a few plants or photos of your loved ones. Bring in calming essential oils. Try an air purifier. Make your space your own wherever you are and you’ll feel clearer, calmer and more satisfied.

Plus, you’ll reap the beauty benefits of it too. When we’re stressed, it makes us look more tired and ages us more quickly. So get it together, doll. You’ve got this!
